Decanters
Decanter (Georgian Period)

Decanter with Port Wine, a Silver Cup and two Walnuts
This decanter dates from the Georgian period, possibly Regency (1820). I bought it many years ago from Mrs. Hebe Feinheer, who used to run a fine antiques shop in the village of Halsteren in the southern part of the Netherlands.
The silver cup is a so-called 'doopbeker,' a memento of a child's christening or baptism.
The walnuts are from our own garden and were secured before the two or three red squirrels - who continuously roam our garden when the nuts are ripening - managed to stash them all away somewhere.

Paintings at an Exhibition
Poster for Exhibition
The poster for my exhibition at Gallery HK in the Walstraat in Deventer featured the painting of the Georgian Decanter. I had a number of these posters printed, and then went around a the shops in the inner city, asking if they would be so kind to put it up on their shop door or window for the month of December.
More than 40! were willing to so do, and many visitors to the town saw my paintings announced. Obviously, it was quite a thrill to walk around and see my painting advertised on so many shop windows.
