Shoeboxes and Harddrives

A great many pictures were dumped into shoeboxes and meant to "sort out later." Later never seemed to arrive. Moreover, the idea of selecting the best pictures and glue them into albums was a notion we entertained when family and friends were still important and we wanted to share our special moments with folks we knew. There was also, at the time, the security of knowing that pension money would allow us to buy such albums in the first place. Ach well.

In this day and age we have come to realise that friends are too busy or are in the process of moving on. And family members have their own families. So whom do we show our pictures to? Who's interested to leaf through our albums full of memories?

I used to make pictures to share with others. I wanted to capture moments, or the special qualities of objects or places, and show these to friends or family. But instead, they ended up in shoeboxes "to sort out later..." Well, someday has made it this far and from now someday shall be treated as today.

Therefore, the pictures in this section, which will expand over time, end up here because we ourselves like them. If others find time to browse them I'd be delighted.
